We all love snacking especially during late evenings. We all eat snacks for different reasons. Some of us want to maintain the healthy balance with 3 meals per day and 1-2 snacks. Snacks are also very popular in boredom, parties and friends get together.
Lives are very busy with work and other activities and by the time we reach home from work, we all want to grab a quick bite to satisfy our appetite and taste J
Snacks can be full of goodness, delicious and nutritious at the same time. The selection and portion are what that matters a lot. Most of the times we indulge in high sugar or high salt snacks. For a short period, it does satisfy our hunger and pleased our mind. However, it isn’t a sustainable choice for the overall and long-term health.

Can vegetable and fruits be a part of the daily snacking?
Yes, absolutely! Vegetable crudites- celery sticks, carrot sticks, cucumber sticks, bell pepper strips. Try them with houmous or mint dip.Isn’t a yummy option.. Any fruits are a healthy snacking option. This will give your body essential nutrients and adequate energy to make supper afterwards
Try oatcakes, wholewheat crackers, corn or rice cakes with add some protein in the shape of houmous, salsa dip (home-made preferably) Chickpea falafels with cucumber dip. To make it healthier, baked falafels can be really healthy.
Dairy products make a healthy snack too. Plain yogurt with fresh fruits and pumpkin seeds. Toasted wholemeal pitta fingers goes well with a fresh cuppa. Multiseed flatbread is one of my favourite snacks and I like having it with fresh guacamole. It is your turn to try next and give your tastebuds a great taste.
Have you ever tried egg as a snack, can be a great addition too. Finally, handful of nuts and seeds never fades. So, if we are taking care of all other meals then why not our snacks too. Having a healthy snack attack strategy is important especially in the evening that usually are our danger times
