Nutrition per serving
Nutritionist’s Note
I recommend this bowl to clients looking to stabilise appetite after a GLP-1 agonist prescription, because the protein from cottage cheese and the slow-release carbs from berries and seeds blunt post-prandial spikes. The blend of chia, hemp and flax provides omega-3 fatty acids and soluble fibre, supporting gut health and satiety. It’s quick to assemble, making it ideal for busy mornings or as a post-workout refuel.
Ingredients
- 200 g low-fat cottage cheese
- 150 g mixed berries (fresh or frozen)
- 30 g rolled oats
- 15 g chia seeds
- 15 g hemp seeds
- 10 g ground flaxseed
- 10 g sliced almonds
- 15 ml plain Greek yoghurt
- 5 ml maple syrup (optional)
- 2.5 ml ground cinnamon (1/2 tsp)
- pinch of sea salt
- 30 ml unsweetened almond milk (optional)
- 5 ml lemon juice
Method
- Place the cottage cheese in a wide bowl, spreading it evenly to create a smooth base.
- Scatter the mixed berries over the cheese, allowing their juices to mingle with the dairy.
- Sprinkle the rolled oats, chia seeds, hemp seeds, ground flaxseed and sliced almonds for texture and extra protein.
- Drizzle the Greek yoghurt and, if using, the maple syrup, then add the lemon juice to brighten the berries.
- Season with ground cinnamon and a pinch of sea salt, then give the bowl a gentle stir to distribute flavours.
- If the mixture feels too thick, pour in the almond milk and fold lightly until the desired consistency is reached.
- Allow the bowl to rest for 2–3 minutes so the chia seeds can absorb liquid and create a pleasant gel texture.
- Serve immediately, enjoying the contrast of creamy, crunchy and juicy elements.

Storage
Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days; keep seeds separate if you plan to re-serve to retain crunch, and stir in before eating.
Tips
- For extra protein, replace the Greek yoghurt with an additional 30 g of low-fat cottage cheese.
- If you prefer a dairy-free version, use soy-based cottage cheese and coconut-yoghurt without altering the nutrient profile.
- Toast the almonds briefly to enhance their nutty flavour before adding them to the bowl.
